Title: The Wii's Days Are Numbered (Seriously)
Description: Hillcrest and Nintendo Head to Trial
DeadPhoenX - September 18, 2008 08:18 AM (GMT)
Uh oh. Unlike many other frivolous lawsuits, this one is actually serious. Here's the link to the Kotaku article.
http://kotaku.com/5051553/us-international...fringement-caseHillcrest, along with a lawsuit, has sent a Cease and Desist order to Nintendo. If HillCrest wins, there is a possibility of the Wii will no longer be sold in the US.
Discuss.

More Trials?
I'm getting sick of all these lawsuits.
Peach Lover - September 18, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
I'm not buying this one folks, I'm just not.
Nintendo is too big of corporation to allow some silly lawsuit to get in the way them selling more Wiis. Ultimately it does come down to which party has the most money and power...

Here's the deal though, unlike previous lawsuits that were deemed too frivolous to give it the time of day (quick cash-in attempts), the courts are letting this one in to hear about it. I gotta be honest though, Hillcrest seems to have a good case. Here's hoping Nintendo wins this one, cause this could be one tough case for both sides.

If they stop selling Wii's in the US, will they stop selling the games too?

Maybe, maybe not. There are still people with Wiis out there, so I presume they would.
DeadPhoenX - September 19, 2008 09:48 PM (GMT)
^ Yeah, they'll still make Wii games. The lawsuit only specifies the console and the remote but not the games.

Okay, now i'm really getting sick and tired of all these ridiculous lawsuits against Nintendo.
Seriously and not to do a Chris Crocker out of myself here, but why can't they just leave Nintendo alone, for god's sakes? *sighs*

That's lame! Come on! anyone with a company who's name sounds like the word 'crap' in another languge is not to be trusted!
Vanilla Dreams - September 21, 2008 06:14 AM (GMT)

No much. Unfortunatly we can't do much. And really the whole thing is getting quite ridiculous with so many lawsuits, blah blah blah. So, yeah lets hope.
Glitter Girl - September 21, 2008 03:43 PM (GMT)
I think all these lawsuits are full of crap. Nintendo has to stick it out. >_>
FinalSmash - September 22, 2008 03:15 PM (GMT)
Yeah, These guys are from JAPAN.
I don't think they can steal ideas all the way from the US.
When will people Understand this?!
Toadster101 - September 22, 2008 10:59 PM (GMT)
The Wii is a good invention, and I heard Super smash brothers brawl sucked, big time.
>_>
nintendopeach - September 22, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
People like this just want Nintendo's money. Why didn't the sue them right when the Wii came out? Wait two years what dose that look like?

Now I'm seeing people being homeless for no reason but I also see people being greedy.
Princess_Daisy - November 2, 2008 04:15 PM (GMT)
Well, i do hope nintendo wins this case, since i'm not in the US, if the US doesn't want Nintendo Consoles anymore then don't give 'em any. And does anyone actually know Hillcrest? Really, i think that it's the same story of easy money repeated.
Now, if they win the whole continent will have to get Wiis someplace else where the US doesn't send them because most of the consoles are sent to the US from Japan, and from the US to the whole continent.

Im in the US and that would be horrible!!! Is this still going on.
